Reheat Leftovers
The Right Way to Reheat Leftovers

Use the handy reheating guide below to get that fresh-cooked flavor, a day later.

Steak should be reheated but not cooked further. Bring the meat to room temperature first, then set an oven to 200 to 250 degrees Fahrenheit, dab butter on top and reheat for 15 minutes.

Fish is also susceptible to overcooking. Preheat the oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit, place filets on a baking sheet and top with a few s of olive oil. Cover with foil to trap steam and heat about 15 minutes.

Leftover pizza is easy to bring back to life. Just slide a slice or two into a nonstick pan over medium heat with a lid on top. The crust will crisp and the cheese will melt in just a few minutes.

Pasta dishes can dry out from microwave cooking. For pasta without sauce, noodles in a pan of boiling water for no more than 30 seconds. For pasta with sauce, cook in a saucepan over medium-low heat for 6 to 8 minutes, and add a little water to loosen. For lasagna, warm in an oven set to 325 degrees Fahrenheit until heated through.

Soups and stews are best done over medium-low heat on the stove (without re-boiling) for 10 to 15 minutes or until warmed through.

French fries can get soggy unless you refry them. Heat a small amount of oil in a nonstick pan over medium heat, toss the fries until crisp and warmed through.

Baked goods require nothing more than an oven set to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cover with foil and bake for around 15 to 20 minutes, or until they're warmed throughout.
